Work: Depriving All Thought?

I can’t help but notice that ever since I began work I haven’t really thought about anything the way that I did while I wasn’t working, or even when I was going to school. I have had no deep or particularly interesting thoughts in over a week now and I just don’t feel like my normal self.

Is this normal for working a normal job? I mean is this why the average American really seems like nothing more than a mindless drone? Maybe for some reason today’s workplace is designed from top down to take away any thought that their employees have, thus making them “better” workers.

Melding thought and love with modern lifeI really have always thought that employers are largely trying to make their workers mindless while at work. But I guess I never realized how well it worked. I mean to the companies, someone who doesn’t think is their best asset. People will do their jobs without thought which means without complaint. Also if an employee is not thinking that means their mind is specifically on task, and thus they just do what they are supposed to.

What I didn’t get was that when I get home, my brain is completely dead and thusly, I end up having at least 5 days a week where I don’t think about how the world works, new thoughts about life, or researching various ideas that I have. This makes it very difficult to do anything with my life that I want to do with it (such as writing and what not).

Which again, this actually helps the company, and more specifically the rich. If an employee is never able to raise their position in life, that means they will always be poor, or moderately poor, and as such will always be at the same level of job. Leaving the person at the will of the company and the rich. Thus they can demand things of us without us being able to demand anything in return.

The real question is how does one get out of this brainless funk?
